Marie-Pier Vaillancourt-Morel, Ph.D.

Marie-Pier Vaillancourt-Morel is an associate professor at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and the director of the Sexual and Intimate Life Research Lab (SAIL Lab). Upon beginning her position in 208, she joined CRIPCAS. Her research focuses on sexuality and marital relationships. Her work on the sexuality of adults reporting childhood maltreatment underscores the importance of focusing on the treatment of couples and will lead to the development of new trauma-sensitive interventions in sexual health. Her research has also examined the impact of pornography use on the sexuality of adolescents and couples, a contemporary issue that will lead to the development of educational strategies for the general public. Since 2023, she has been a member of the CRIPCAS Board of Directors as a representative of researchers and is responsible for the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee to promote these principles within our team and our work.
